KARTELL chaise SMATRIK (Blanc / Blanc - polycarbonate coloré dans la masse et acier)
Kartell launches in its definitive version Smatrik, the new chair evolution. The project Smatrik Kartell is born from the constant dialogue between design and innovation and the meeting between visionary and experimental ideas of the designer and the sophisticated production technology of the brand. The weave of the seat, rendered possible thanks to an injection moulding technique on a metal structure with three-dimensional effect, gives it an extraordinary lightness and refinement. Thanks to a long process of study and design the difficulty of mould filling of this structure, one of a kind, has been exceeded and it has allowed to realize, for the first time in plastic material at industrial level, a product that has unique features for design, strength, durability, flexibility and productive technology. "For Smatrik -Tokujin Yoshioka states - I have been inspired by the chairs of the 50ies that were made by using steel wires and more than aiming at the external image, I have decided to create a design as close as possible to the structure, but by using the injection moulding innovative technology by Kartell. The two layers of rod-shaped acrylic resin create the three-dimensional structure in an harmonious dialogue between form and matter, essential and timeless".
